Follow the steps below to configure Mail for Mac OS X (10.2) for SMTP Authentication.

How to Configure Mail for Mac OS X  for SMTP Authentication

  1. Open Mail.
  2. From the Mail menu, choose Preferences.
  3. Select your email account in the Accounts list.
  4. Account information tab.
  5. Click the arrow box on the Outgoing Mail Server pop-up list and choose Add Server
  6. In the Outgoing Mail Server field, type mail.ccsw.co.uk
  7. Click the arrow box on the Authentication pop-up list and choose Password.
  8. In the User Name field, type your entire MCI email address (e.g., joe@mydomainname.co.uk).
  9. In the Password field, type your email password.
  10. Click the OK button.
  11. Click the OK button.
  12. If its a pop3 your done. If you are setting up as an imap account you need to click the advaced tab. and ensure SSL is unticked and authentication is password. 
  13. Close the Accounts window.
